The change of seasons is a time for reflection as the hours of daylight start to lessen and when you live in a place with seasons, the changing temperatures bring a different landscape. All of these transitions prompt reflections both artistically and personally.
We often do an anniversary trip around this time of year, we went a little early this year in September rather than October. Ireland has long been a dream, and the trip did not disappoint. I am already fantasizing about how I can return occasionally if not annually. When returning from travels it is hard to find a balance between reviewing all of the pictures from the trip and launching into the projects that have been awaiting my return. One way to find balance is to give myself a few challenges to complete related to editing and to reingaging with home.
1. Ireland in Black and White. I give myself 30 days to edit and post at least one black and white picture from each day of our trip. I will likely broaden it to at least one BW pic from each location, but I'm starting simple.
2. I enrolled in an online class called self-knowledge through photography, just for some inspiration.
3. Continue practicing video on the Z6ii
4. Continue work on the KC Irish sessions pics and finish that cover page for Eddie.
Below are Day 1 and 2 of Ireland in Black and White plus a rook from later in the trip
